When we talk about travelling, we have to mention transportation as it is a mandatory part of every trip. How wonderful would it be if we, as tourists, got to learn about every important type of public transportation? There are many types of public transportation in Thailand but here we’ll focus on the Airport Link, the BTS, the MRT and ferries. The charm of these forms of public transportation lies in the tourist attractions that can be seen along the way, including Thailand’s famous street food vendors that can be found everywhere. Airport Link

It connects Suvarnabhumi Airport with 7 stations: Lat Krabang, Ban Thap Chang, Hua Mak, Ramkhamhaeng, Makkasan, Ratchaprarop, and Phaya Thai. Now that we know all the station names, let’s learn about some interesting tourist attractions at each station!

1. Lat Krabang Station

Let’s hop off and visit Siam Serpentarium, a snake museum in Bangkok that teaches you about snakes at every stage of their lives. Moreover, there are special shows and other entertainments that you can enjoy.

2. Ban Thap Chang Station

Not far from the station is Ban Thap Chang market, a chic market where shops are set in shipping containers. Enjoy tasty meals at many restaurants in the market. There is a plant market too.

3. Hua Mak Station

The famous Srinagarindra Train Night Market is located here! This is a popular destination for both Thais and foreigners. The large market consists of various shops such as street food vendors and clothes shops.

4. Ramkhamhaeng Station

If you hop off at this station, don’t forget to visit the KKT market! It is a night market located near the station with various shops. Not far from the station is the Rajamangala National Stadium, which is the biggest stadium in Thailand, holding many famous events. If you walk a bit further, there are many shops and restaurants that you can visit.

5. Makkasan Station

This is where the famous shopping mall “The Platinum Fashion Mall” is located. It is the biggest wholesale mall in Thailand. Enjoy shopping for clothes and accessories to your heart’s content. If you are hungry after a shopping trip, take a break at various international restaurants to recharge your energy!

6. Ratchaprarop Station

Walk a bit from the station to Baiyoke Tower and take in the beautiful panoramic scenery of Bangkok from the top of the tower. There are various restaurants to enjoy such as Chinese, American, or international buffets.

7. Phaya Thai Station

Widely known as Pratunam, this is another popular wholesale shopping district. If you are more into cafés than shopping, there are many unique and stylish cafés nearby that you can visit, for example The Rabbit Hub, Factory Coffee – Bangkok, etc.
